Breakfast
It’s always a good romantic
start to the day to wake up well before your loved one
rises and make them breakfast in bed. A great breakfast
snack is muffins, these can be presented in red decorative
wrappers or boxes with a breakfast smoothie and it’s
a nice light meal. Conversely (if you’re feeling
adventurous) you can make smoked salmon and cream cheese
bagels, washed down with a hot cup of tea/coffee or
strawberry fizz.
Lunch
Lunch need not be heavy, a great
idea would be to go for a champagne lunch – consisting
of strawberries, cream and of course the champagne itself.
Dinner
There are a multitude of recipes
you could experiment with for a romantic meal at home,
depending on how adventurous you are in the kitchen.
One idea would be to have smoked salmon potato cake,
with whipped cream and oscietra caviar as a starter.
This can then be followed up with Spanish chicken and
chocolate and prune pudding with coffee and white bean
ice cream.
Alternatively you can try a roasted vine and tomato
and spinach salad for starters. Follow this up with
a pot roasted lemon chicken served with braised red
cabbage, blanched green beans and mashed potatoes. To
round it off indulge in panna cotta with stewed rhubarb
as dessert. For vegetarians Grilled Goat's Cheese with
a Salad of Fresh Peas, Asparagus and Broad Beans is
good for starters and this can be followed up with Chestnut
Bourgignon Pie served with Kibbe and Red Cabbage with
Red Onions and Almonds. And a fitting dessert would
be Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's Strawberry Sorbet,
Italian Style served with Chocolate Centred Valentine
Biscuits.
