Driving directions:
The airport
lies off junction 5 of the M56 motorway. Directions
for all terminals are clearly signposted on all
approach roads to the airport.
Car parking:
Short and
long-term parking facilities (tel: (0)161 489 3723)
are available close to Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Long-term
parking is recommended for any stay over 6 hours.
A regular courtesy shuttle bus operates from the
long-term car parks to all terminals.
Public
transport and taxis:
Taxis are available
outside the arrivals hall of each terminal. Trains
operate every day, except Christmas Day and Boxing
Day, from many stations in northern England and
the Midlands. There is a frequent train service
between the airport and Manchester Piccadilly railway
station in the city centre, which has connections
to most major destinations. The airport's bus network
provides direct services to many local centres,
as well as links to other towns and cities. All
buses call at the airport bus station located outside

National coach networks including National Express
(tel: (0)8705 808 080) and Yorkshire Traction (tel:
(0)1226 202 555) also run from the airport to various
destinations.
Information and help desks:
Information desks
are situated in the arrivals areas of Terminals
1, 2 and 3. There is also a desk situated in Terminal
1 Departures which is open 0500-1000 daily. There
is a MINICOM system at each information desk (tel:
(0)161 489 3561 (Terminal 1); tel: (0)161 489 6363
(Terminal 2); tel: (0)161 489 3253 (Terminal 3)
and several members of staff are trained in British
Sign Language.
Airport

and banking facilities are located throughout the
terminals and the airport complex. All terminals
have restaurants, cafés and bars with 24-hour facilities;
duty-free shops and a variety of gift shops and
concessions are also available.

The Manchester Tec

in Terminal 3 and offers a wide range of professional
business support services, including private workstations
with telephone, fax, photocopying and word processing
facilities, meeting room hire, message taking, a
flight information and booking service, and video
conferencing; it is open 0700-1700 Monday-Friday.
The airport also has conference facilities (tel:
(0)161 489 6182), including catering for up to 400
people and a comprehensive range of audiovisual,
telephone and fax equipment. The Premier Lounge
– Escape (tel: (0)161 489 3388) in Terminal 2 offers
passengers a chance to relax and use a variety of
business facilities, including fax machines, telephones,
internet access and photocopying; there is a charge
for entry to this lounge.

Facilities:
There are accessible
toilets, hearing loops and telephones accessible
to wheelchair users throughout the terminals. There
is also a TDD payphone in Terminal 1 International
Arrrivals. Passengers requiring special assistance
should contact their airline. There are spaces for
