Transfer between terminals: The Inter Terminal Transit train links the north and south terminals and runs every 3 minutes (journey time: 2 minutes).

Driving directions:

London Gatwick is directly linked to the M23 motorway. Drivers should turn off at junction 9 and follow signs for the airport. London Gatwick is also accessible from the A23 London-Brighton Road.

Car parking: Each terminal has a short-term car park with direct access to the terminal. Long-term parking is also available in car parks further from the terminals; a shuttle bus runs between the car parks and the terminals. Passengers can book at least 96 hours in advance; this can be done either online (web site: www. baa.co.uk) or by contacting the BAA freefone information line (tel: (0800) 844 844). Valet parking is available and operated by NCP.

Public transport and taxis: The Gatwick Express train service runs to Victoria station (journey time: 30 minutes). There is also a Thameslink service (journey time: 40 minutes) which runs to Kings Cross. The service also runs to East Croydon, London Bridge, Bedford, Brighton, London Blackfriars and London Farringdon stations. Connex runs train services to Watford Junction and Tonbridge. Speedlink coaches to Heathrow Airport, Flightline coaches to London Victoria Station and National Express coaches to destinations nationwide depart from the ground floor of the south Terminal. Jetlink services, which run to Brighton, also depart from the ground floor of the south Terminal. Chauffeur-driven cars are provided by Gatwick Airport Cars (tel: (0)1293 562 291) and Gatwick Goldline Cars (tel: (0)1293 568 468).

Information and help desks: Each arrivals concourse has an information desk (tel: (0)1293 535 353) where multi-lingual staff are on hand to deal with enquiries 24 hours a day.

Airport facilities: Both terminals have bureaux de change, ATMs, shops, duty-free outlets, restaurants and bars. There is a post office in the South Terminal and an adjacent medical centre in Ashdown House offering vaccinations. Shops include a music shop, a pharmacy, several clothing shops, a bookshop, a shoe shop, a sports shop, a gift shop, an electrical goods shop and a newsagents. Stamps are available from bureaux de change and from newsagents. Baby changing rooms are present at the airport and children's play areas are available free of charge for children aged between two and six years of age. Left luggage facilities are available in both terminals. The Internet Exchange internet café (e-mail: ila@internet-exchange.co.uk) can be found in the International Departures Lounge where passengers can gain internet access, send e-mails, play computer games and receive computer training.

Conference and business facilities: The BAA Conference and Business Centre at the South Terminal provides conference and meeting facilities, videoconferencing, board rooms, training rooms and internet access. There are also business facilities, including phone, fax, photocopy and secretarial services and conference and meeting rooms, at London Gatwick Hilton Hotel (tel: (0)1293 518 080) at the South Terminal and Le Meridien London Gatwick Hotel (tel: (0)1293 567 070) at the North Terminal. The airport offers a Fast Track priority service for business class travellers, providing a priority route through the airport, with dedicated parking and duty-free counters, and priority passport and immigration control channels.

Disabled Facilities: Special assistance is available for disabled passengers and those with special needs. For passengers with wheelchairs, there are ramps and/or lifts where necessary. Reserved seating is provided in the check-in areas and in the international departures lounges. Assistance is also available for drivers with special needs when parking at the airport.
