directions:
From Nottingham,
take the A52 westbound and join the M1 at junction
25 southbound. Continue southbound and exit at junction
24, then follow signs to the airport. From Leicester,
take the A6 northbound to junction 24 of the M1
and follow signs to the airport or take the M1 northbound
and exit at junction 23A, then follow signs to the
airport. From Derby, take the A50 southbound and
continue until the interchange with junction 24
of the M1 motorway and follow signs for the airport.
Car

852 852, ext 3263 or 3259) is available at the airport.
The short-term car park is located outside the main
terminal building, whilst a courtesy shuttle bus
transports passengers to and from the long-term
car parks.
Public
transport and taxis:
A short
taxi ride to the railway stations of Nottingham,
Loughborough, Derby and Long Eaton provides passengers
with connections to destinations around Great Britain
on the Intercity network. National Rail Enquiries
(tel: (0)845 748 4950) can provide more information
on fares and timetables. There is a Midland Mainline
freephone booking centre opposite the information
desk in the main terminal building. Flightlink (tel:
(0)870 575 7747) operate a coach service between
East Midlands Airport and Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield,
Chesterfield, Coventry, Warwick, Heathrow Airport
and Gatwick Airport. There are bus services to Nottingham,
Derby and Leicester from outside the main arrivals
area. For Nottingham, the first bus leaves the airport
at 0606 Monday-Saturday and 1044 Sunday and the
last bus leaves at 2214 Monday-Saturday and 2344
Sunday. Buses arrive at the Victoria Centre in central
Nottingham. From Nottingham city centre to the airport
the first bus leaves from the Elite theatre on Upper
Parliament Street at 0512 Monday-Saturday and 0754
Sunday; the last bus leaves at 2132 Monday-Sunday.
For Derby, the first bus leaves the airport at 0610
Monday-Saturday and 1052 Sunday; the last bus leaves
the airport at 1730 Monday-Saturday and 1807 Sunday.
From central Derby to the airport the first bus
leaves at 0645 Monday-Saturday and 1025 Sunday;
the last bus leaves Derby at 1815 Monday-Saturday
and 1845 Sunday. For Leicester, the first bus leaves
the airport at 0515 Monday-Saturday and 1258 Sunday;
the last bus leaves at 1845 Monday-Saturday and
1913 Sunday. From central Leicester, the first bus
leaves from stand C3 at Haymarket bus station at
0700 Monday-Saturday and from St. Margaret's bus
station at 1045 Sunday; the last bus departs from
Haymarket bus station at 1615 Monday-Saturday and
from St Margaret's bus station at 1700 Sunday.

There is

main terminal building which is open 24 hours a
day. A board next to the information desk displays
messages left for passengers.
Airport
facilities:
ATMs are
situated in the arrivals area of the main terminal
building. There are two bureaux de change in the
main terminal building and a lost property service
is operated by the information desk (tel: (0)1332
852 852). A variety of cafés and restaurants in
the food hall on the first floor offer meals, snacks
and drinks; there is also a traditional British
pub. Other facilities at the airport include a first
aid room, a nursing parents' room located on the
first floor in the international departures lounge
and in the international arrivals hall, a children's
play area located in the main terminal building
and in the international departures lounge, and
bars in the domestic and international departure
lounges. There are also a number of retail outlets
at the airport, including a pharmacy, a bookshop,
an aviation gift shop, a lingerie and swimwear shop,
a cosmetics and jewellery shop, a toy shop, a football
shop, a music store, a hairdressers, a sweet shop
and a sunglasses and hosiery shop. In the arrivals
hall, there is a convenience store selling essential
food and household items. In addition, in the international
departures lounge, there is a sports shop, a bookstore,
a duty and tax-free shop and a smoking lounge. A
travel centre is located in the link between the
departures building and the main terminal building.
Conference
and business facilities:
Fax and
photocopy facilities are available at the information
desk (tel: (0)1332 852 852) for a small charge.
British Midland operates the Euroclass Lounge and
the Diamond Club Lounge, which provide refreshments
and fax and photocopying facilities for business
class passengers and Diamond Club members. Internet
access will be available in the near future. British
Midland Frequent Flyer Club members may make use
of the dedicated car park spaces in the short-term
car park in front of the terminal building entrance.
There is a priority check-in service for all British
Midland Diamond and Euroclass passengers and a rapid
route channel for scheduled passengers and other
executive passengers enabling faster access through
security search areas into the departure lounge.
Exclusive facilities are available to all passengers
in the Servisair Sherwood Lounge (tel: (0)1332 852
843). The entry payment entitles passengers to complimentary
drinks, snacks and newspapers, as well as access
to workstations equipped with internet and e-mail.

First aid facilities are also available at the information
desk. Long-term and short-term parking is provided
for orange badge holders in the short-term car park
located 50m (40 yards) from the terminal building
entrance. There are also disabled toilets and lowered
phones, as well as a lift to the food hall on the
first floor. Doorways at the airport are electronically
operated. Wheelchairs are also available; passengers
who require the ambulift for boarding aircraft should
notify their airline at the time of booking. Link

taxis. Hearing loops are located throughout the
terminal.
