Driving directions:
From Belfast,
the airport can be reached by travelling north on
the M2 motorway, and then turning off at junction
5. The airport is situated off the A57, 7 miles
from junction 5. Travellers from the south and west
can reach the airport by taking the Moira junction
on the Ml motorway, then the A26 and Nutts Corner
junction.
Car parking:
Car parks
are situated within walking distance of the passenger
terminal and are open 24 hours a day. The airport
has a short-term, a main-term and a holiday car
park. The short-term car park is located closest
to the terminal entrance and allows passengers to
stop for 10 minutes free of charge. The main-term
car park is recommended for business travellers
and for those travelling away for a few days. The
holiday car park is recommended for holiday-makers
away for more than four days. The car parks have
spaces for disabled passengers and also have baggage
trolleys. Porters are also on hand to offer assistance.
Public
transport and taxis:
An AIRBUS
(tel: (0)289 033 3000) runs from the airport to
Belfast city centre every 30 minutes Monday-Saturday
and every 30-60 minutes 0545-2320 Sunday. From the
airport, the bus will stop at Templepatrick, the
Chimney Corner Inn, Sandyknowes Roundabout, Laganside
Buscentre and Central Railway Station, as well as
Glengall Street (Europa Buscentre). Travellers to
the airport should board at Glengall Street and
disembark in front of the passenger terminal on
arrival. Taxis leave from outside the arrivals building
and are approved by the Airport Authority. Fares
are available from the information desk, as well
as from the destination list posted outside the
terminal. The nearest railway station is 10km (6
miles) from the airport in Antrim, and connects
to Belfast, Lisburn and Londonderry. There is a
timetable on display outside the terminal; in addition,
details can be obtained by asking information desk
staff. Airporter (tel: (0)1265 329333) offer regular
coach services from Coleraine and Londonderry, whilst
the Royal Mail operates an evening return service
to Enniskillen (Monday-Friday). Timetables and details
are available from the information desk within the
terminal. A new Antrim Airlink shuttle bus service
is also available between the airport and Antrim,
which runs every hour.

information desk (tel: (0)289 448 4848) is located
in the arrivals lounge.
Airport
facilities:
In the departures
hall, there are gift shops and a bookshop/newsagents.
The airport also has a duty and tax-free shop in
the international departures lounge. There is a
children's play area and a mother and baby room
in the departures area. Other facilities include
a video games area, a bureau de change, a travel
agency, ATMs, postal facilities, telephones, a photo
booth and a viewing gallery. The International Food
Court, on the first floor of departures, is open
from the time of the first check-in to the last
departure. The International Bar is also located
in departures and is open 1130-2300. A bookshop
and coffee shop are located in arrivals; the coffee
shop is open 0730 until the arrival of the last
domestic flight. There is a new café/bar in the
international departures pier.
Conference
and business facilities:
Airlines
serving Belfast International Airport allow business
passengers to check in by telephone, use TimeSaver
ticketing facilities, reserve seats, book hire cars
and gain hotel privileges. Airlines at the airport
also have executive lounge facilities in their departure
lounges, which can be used by executive club members.
In addition to this, Aldergrove Airport Hotel has
facilities to hold business seminars, training courses
and sales conferences in seven air-conditioned conference
and meeting rooms. The airport also has an Executive
Jet Centre, which offers aircraft refuelling, inflight
catering, hotel reservations, chauffer-driven limousines
and self-drive car hire facilities.
Disabled
Facilities:
Wheelchairs
are available from individual airlines, as well
as from airport staff. Passengers are however advised
to book a wheelchair in advance when purchasing
a ticket. Disabled toilets and telephones are also
available. Two minicom units for hearing-impaired
travellers are located at the information desk and
switchboard. Disabled car parking is available in
the airport car parks and lifts can transport passengers
to other levels. There are low level kerbs at entrances
and exits to the terminal, as well as low level
telephones in the terminal building. Staff at the
airport information desk are trained in basic sign
language.

The Aldergrove Airport Hotel (tel: (0)289
442 2033) is situated within walking distance of
the main passenger terminal. The hotel is air-conditioned
and has a number of restaurants and bars. It also
has a conference room, a fitness suite and sauna,
a patio and car parking facilities. Details of other
hotels in the surrounding area, can be obtained
by contacting Northern Ireland Tourist Board (tel:
(0)289 024 6609). Hotels within a five minute drive
of the airport include the Dunadry Hotel, the Hilton,
the Templepatrick and the Templeton Hotel. |
