Ayrshire
and Arran has played a key role in Scotland’s history with
castles and other monuments dating back centuries. It is also
the birthplace of Scotland’s most famous poet, Robert Burns, and
Scottish Kings and heroes like Robert the Bruce and - so legend
has it - of William Wallace.
Museum
of Ayrshire Country Life and Costume
Here at Dalgarven Mill, where the museum is based, you can
compare the lifestyles of the mill owner to his workforce in the
1800s. It also holds one of Scotland's finest collections of
costume.
