Clackmannanshire is the smallest county in Scotland, bounded
on the north by Perthshire, on the east by Kinross and
Fifeshire, on the south by the Firth of Forth, and on
the west by Stirlingshire. It has an area of 55 square
miles.
The Ochil Hills extend west to east through the centre
of the county. There are three rivers, the Forth, the
Devon, and the Black Devon. Clackmannan is the county
town, two miles east of Alloa, the chief town.
