Oxfordshire
At
one time this region was part of Mercia. With remains
of some castles, Saxon, and Norman establishments. Oxfordshire
was the scene for many events during the reign of King
John and during the Civil Wars.
Oxfordshire is bordered by Warwickshire,
Northamptonshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire
and Thames and Oxfordshire covers an area of 768 square
miles.
The main towns and cities for
this county are Witney, Bicester, Thame, Banbury and
