Cambridgeshire an inland county has the county of Huntingdon and Essex
to the north, to the east Huntingdonshire, to the west
Suffolk and Norfolk and south of Lincolnshire. Also
part of Cambridgeshire is the Isle of Ely. With its
oblong shape and around 50 miles long, 30 miles wide
and has an area of 860 square miles.
Cambridgeshire has a contrast in the lands. In the north
of the county the land is fairly level all round. While
in the south it gets to a height of 300 feet in the
area of Cambridge. The Primary river’s are the
Cam, the Lark, the Nene and the Great Ouse.
The principal towns in the county are Cambridge, Ely,
Linton, Wisbech and March. Cambridgeshire also has evidence
of occupations from the Roman and prehistoric.
