individual attractions.
If you like history and architecture, the Council has
produced a series City Trails, which offer an insight
into the heritage. Bradford has a 15th century Cathedral
and the Priestly Centre for Arts which hosts a varied
programme of current plays, music and art house films.
The city is also known for having the National Museum
of Photography, Film and Television which inside has
a 3-D Imax Cinema.
Saltaire which is found 4 miles
from Bradford is a ‘model’ Victorian industrial
village and is home to the world’s largest collection
of work by David Hockney who was born in Bradford.
In the Wharfe Valley is the spa
town of Ilkley and surrounded by glorious countryside
and has the added advantage of having countless access
to the moors and extensive views, including the famous
Swastika Stone on Woodhouse Crags.
Along the Leeds-Liverpool canal
you can take a leisurely walk or go by canal boat. And
visit Roberts Park which is a wonderful place and catch
the Victorian Tramway as you walk through Shipley Glen.
