Shops: As well as the high street stores in the pedestrianised
centre a great place to browse is Castle Welsh Crafts,
opposite the castle itself. Alternatively head to one
of the many arcades for designer boutiques.
Architecture: Check out Cardiff Castle, the Civic Centre,
The National Museum and Gallery and the City Hall and
Law Courts. Cardiff Bay has some interesting new buildings.
Parks: The beautiful Bute Park, once the private estate
of the Castle, stretches for a couple of miles along
the river as far as Llandaff and is the ‘green
lung’ of the city. The park contains an arboretum,
colourful flowerbeds, a gorsedd stone circle and the
foundations of an old priory.
