WWE Films, pr oduced & financed Cena's 1st movie — The Marine, distribution by 20th Century Fox on October 13, 2006 . In its first week, it grossed $7 million in the US box office. Ten week benchmark $18.7 million. The DVD release grossed $30 million in first 12 weeks.

In 2001, between training in Ultimate Pro Wrestling and Ohio Valley Wrestling, Cena pr oduced reality show Manhunt. Cena portrayed Big Tim Kingman, leader of the group of bounty hunters.
