Career
highlights
Upon his return from injury to
the Newcastle side this season,
he quickly reminded Newcastle
fans and Sven Goran Eriksson why
he is such a highly rated player
with a series of match winning
performances and crucial goals
which maintained Newcastle's challenge
for the title.
Kieron won his first cap in the
opening match of the 1999-2000
season, a European Championship
qualifier against Luxembourg at
Wembley (won 6-0). A skilful,
pacy and intelligent attacking
player, Kieron would undoubtedly
have added to the caps he has
so far won at senior level had
it not been for a series of long
term injuries over the past couple
of years.
He moved
from local club Ipswich to Newcastle
in 2000 for a transfer fee of
£6m and quickly earned rave
reviews as one of England's brightest
young midfield talents before
suffering a series of stress fractures
to his shin. |
