Kieron Dyer

Position Midfielder
Club Newcastle United FC
D.O.B 29.12.1978

Career highlights
Upon his return from injury to the Newcastle side this season, he quickly reminded Newcastle fans and Sven Goran Eriksson why he is such a highly rated player with a series of match winning performances and crucial goals which maintained Newcastle's challenge for the title.

Kieron won his first cap in the opening match of the 1999-2000 season, a European Championship qualifier against Luxembourg at Wembley (won 6-0). A skilful, pacy and intelligent attacking player, Kieron would undoubtedly have added to the caps he has so far won at senior level had it not been for a series of long term injuries over the past couple of years.

He moved from local club Ipswich to Newcastle in 2000 for a transfer fee of £6m and quickly earned rave reviews as one of England's brightest young midfield talents before suffering a series of stress fractures to his shin.
