Position Goalkeeper
Club West Ham United FC
D.O.B 01.08.1970

Career highlights
A highly experienced goalkeeper currently in outstanding form with West Ham, David won his first senior England cap against Mexico in the Wembley friendly in 1997 (won 2-0). Three years later Peter Taylor called him up to face Italy in Turin and he kept his place for the Spain match in February. Five caps to date.

A powerful and talented goalkeeper, David started his playing career at Watford, before going on to make 215 League appearances for Liverpool, winning the League Cup in 1995.

Having moved to West Ham from Aston Villa for £3.5m in the close season, David was unfortunate to suffer a major injury whilst playing for England during the pre-season friendly against Holland in August 2001.

Since his return to fitness in November 2001, he has made a significant contribution to West Ham's improved league form, and also returned to the England fold with an appearance in the return friendly against Holland in Amsterdam in February.
