CF Valencia
The idea of playing football in Valencia came
about in a bar called Bar Torino in the centre
of the capital Turia in 1919. The clubs first
president of Valencia Football Club was Octavio
Augusto Milego Diaz. It was chosen by chance:
a currency sent to the air served to decide
between him and Gonzalo Medina Pernás,
who finally remained with the parcel of the
constituent commission and festejos.
The home of the club was a small establishment
on a Barcelonina street. With the club being
lead by Milego, Medina, Paschal and Julio Gasco,
Andres Bonilla, Jose Llorca, Fernando Marzal
and Adolph Moya.
Before the creation of Valencia Football Club
football already existed here, even though there
was no club. For you would see British sailors
in the port playing with a ball. And in 1908
in Valencia the equipment like Levante, Gymnastic,
Hispanic Hispania was used and this made up
the club, the first party was disputed by the
Valencia as it was in other people’s land.
The club celebrated the formation in Castellon
on the 21st May 1919 and a rivalry quickly formed
between Valencia and Gymnastic the Valencian.
FC Valencia has won the Spanish Championship
5 times in 1942, 1944, 1947, 1971 and 2002,

Cup-winners’ Cup in 1980, the UEFA Cup
twice in 1962 and 1963 and the European Super
