One Football
West ham United was formed in 1895 and was in
the English Second Division from 1919-20 to
1923-24 when the team gained promotion in to
the English First Division. In the English Second
Division they finished in places ranging from
7th to 2nd.
Now in the English First Division the club is
in this division from 1923-24 to 1931-32. The
club had a mixed time in English First Division
before finally being relegated to the English
Second Division after having a bad season in
1931-32.
West Ham spent from 1932-33 to 1958 when the
club finished the season in 1st position. Thus
gaining them promotion into the English First
Division. This was when the team had a good
spell in here. But in the 1977-78 season the
club has a bad season which means they were
relegated to the English Second Division.
The club only stays here for three seasons when
they ended the 1980-81 season in 1st place that
the club moves back into the English First Division.
From 1987-88 to 1992-93 the club is in and out
of the Barclays League Divisions.
But as the club finished the 1992-93 in second
place they are promoted to the FA Carling Premiership.
Here they stay for ten seasons before they had
a bad season in 2002-2003 when they were relegated
to the Nationwide Division One. Where they are
spending the 2003-2004 season.
West Ham United plays their football at Upton
Park which has a capacity of 36000.
The star players for West Ham United are Jermain
Defoe, David Connolly, Brian Deane, Marlon Harewood,
Don Hutchinson, Neil Mellor, Kevin Horlock,
Christian Dailly, Ian Pearce and Matthew Etherington.
West Ham United hopes
to finish the season within the top six with
the aim of getting into the play-offs and featuring
amongst the titles.
