Nationwide Division
One Football
Sheffield United was formed
in 1889. The club was then in the English Second
Division in the 1892-93 season in which they
gained promotion to the English First Division
in 1893-94 season where the club stayed until
the 1933-34 season where they relegated to the
English Second Division after bad run of form.
So from 1934-35 to 1938-39 they were in the
English Second Division. The club gained promotion
to the English First Division.
From 1934-35 to 1978-79
Sheffield United was in and out of the English
Second and First Divisions before they finally
went down into the English Third Division at
the end of the 1978-79 season after the club
finished in 20th position.
In the 1978-79 season
Sheffield United were playing in the English
third Division which they played in for another
season. 1980-81 saw the club relegated to the
English Fourth Division after they ended the
season in 21st place.
From 1982-83 the club
has worked hard to gain promotion through the
divisions. The club did so well that they even
spent two seasons in the FA Carling Premiership
in 1992 to 1994. But after a bad time the club
was then in the Endsleigh League Division One
in 1994-95 season until the 1995-96 season when
the club has gained promotion into the Nationwide
Division One.
From 1996-97 to 2003-04
Sheffield United has spent the last seven seasons
in this division finishing in places from 16th
position to 3rd position. In this season is
currently at 3rd in the table.

Lane which has a capacity of 30370.

Division One final.
