Although
Anwar last played an ODI for his country in
the ICC Champions Trophy in September 2002,
he has been recalled for the World Cup to provide
an experienced head at the top of the order.
A
seasoned left-handed opener, Anwar at his best
is a sight to behold. His elegance and fantastic
timing makes him a dangerous batsman in the
first 15 overs of the innings. With 19 ODI centuries
under his belt, including the highest ever in
the shorter version of the game, the ageing
Anwar cannot be underestimated.
