is without a doubt one of the finest batmen
ever produced by India. His record in both forms
of the game speaks for itself.

batsman blessed with splendid timing, terrific
balance and superb hand-eye co-ordination, Tendulkar
has the ability to tear through any attack in
world cricket. Since his ODI debut in 1989/1990,
he has been blasting bowlers all over the park
in displays of powerful elegance.
Tendulkar
is exceptionally talented with the bat. He also
has the ability to bowl leg-spinners, off-spinners
and medium-pacers with remarkably accuracy.
The
"Little Master", as he is affectionately
known in his cricket-mad country, has not had
an ideal build-up to the tournament after missing
a few ODIs against New Zealand with an ankle
injury.
