The
34-year-old, New Zealand-born strike bowler
carries a huge burden of responsibility on his
shoulders. Caddick has a reputation for generating
surprising bounce off a good length and still
manages a decent amount of pace in the latter
stages of his career. His greatest weapon is
his swing, as he is able to move the ball away
from the right-hander to great effect.
Counting
against him, however, is a poor record against
Australia and a reputation of lacking determination
against tough opposition. Although he showed
on the recent tour to Australia that he is capable
of fighting, with some gritty performances,
they usually came to late to be of any great
use. As was the case with the series in Australia,
Caddick will be forced to fight without his
regular opening partner Darren Gough at the
