Despite
some brushes with the bottle early in his career,
Ricky Ponting has bounced back to become a key
ingredient in the Australian side. Already the
ODI captain, Ponting could well succeed Steve
Waugh as Test skipper as well - although he
is not Test vice-captain.

an aggressive top-order batsman Ponting brings
a blend of enthusiasm, confidence and aggression

50 Ponting boasts one of the best conversion
rates in the game - he’s scored 16 fifties and
12 centuries, while in the shorter version of
the game he has clobbered 11 tons and 30 half
