said to have the value of £80 million and is owned
by charitable trusts.
This castle was considered to
be the favourite of the Queen Mother and she liked very
much in her Scottish heart.
The castle looks out to Orkney
on the north coast of Scotland. It is also the only
property used to be owned and bought by the Queen Mother.
It was built in 1570 and until the 19the century was
the home of the Caithness family. The Queen Mother had
to spend millions to turn it into a place of splendour.
As the castle was in a neglected state and had no electricity
and heating.
There is a trapdoor in the dinning
room which leads into a dungeon and has 15 bedrooms
and a library.
