Helen Reeves clinched a Gold medal in the women’s k1 kayak singles final.

Originally Helen was outside the medals position in fourth position, but France’s Peggy Dickins landed an additional two second penalty, which led to Helen being pushed up the order.

The French did not lodge an appeal to the Olympic Committee.
