The British Badminton pair of Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms won a silver medal in what was a very tense badminton mixed doubles final.

It was a see-saw battle which saw the Brits lose 15-1,12-15,15-12 to the second seeded pair and defending Olympics Badminton champions pair of Ling Gao and Jun Zhang.

It took 12 minutes for the Chinese pair to overpower the fourth seeds with Zhang’s awesome left handed smashes.

Robertson and Emms stepped up their level of play in the second set which rattled the Chinese.

However the Chinese came back to win 15-12 in the third game, to take the gold medal away from the Britons.
