The second cycling gold award was by Bradley Wiggins in the men’s four kilometre individual pursuit.

The 23 year old produced a stunning performance to beat Australian Brad McGee to finish the race in a time of 4:16.304 seconds.

The success followed Chris Hoy’s success in the one kilometre time trial event.
