Alison Williamson clinched a bronze medal for Great Britain in the women’s individual 70m archery competition.
It has taken 12 years for archer Alison to achieve an Olympic medal.
Competing in her fourth Olympics, the trainee primary school teacher defeated Taipei’s Shun Chi Yuan of china in what was a tense third-fourth spot shoot-out.
With one arrow to go, both her and her opponent were tied at 97-97, but Williamson kept calm under pressure to score 8pts, while her Chinese opponent could only achieve 7 points losing the match 105-104.
