Princess Royal
The Princess Royal
was born on 15th August 1950 at Clarence House, London
when her mother was Princess Elizabeth, heir to the
presumptive throne. She was baptised on 21st October
1950 Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise at Buckingham Palace.
She is the second child and only daughter of The Queen
and The Duke of Edinburgh.
In June 1987 she received the title Princess Royal from
The Queen, before she was known as Princess Anne. Her
Royal Highness is the seventh holder of this title.
The Queen in 1994 appointed The Princess a Lady of the
Most Noble Order of the Garter. To mark her 50th birthday
in 2000, for recognition of her work for charities was
appointed to the Order or the Thistle.
