During the period
of 1952 to 2002 The Queen completed an amazing number
of duties. Many of which, have involved working with
hundreds of organisations, and met more people in the
UK, Commonwealth and overseas than any other monarch.
For this work The Duke of Edinburgh has fully supported
Her Majesty, and fulfilled many Royal duties of his
own.
The Queen has bestowed 380,630
honours and awards in 50 years; received around 3 million
items of correspondence; and to centenarians in the
UK and in the commonwealth sent almost 100,000 telegrams.
During this time The Duke of Edinburgh fulfilled over
18,567 official engagements that doesn’t include
those accompanying The Queen; chaired over 1,454 meetings;
and given 4,632 speeches at meetings, conferences and
receptions.
