Lasagne

Ingredients
1/2 cup onion; chopped
1/2 cup bell pepper chopped
3 tb olive oil
1 pound & 2 cloves 1 ts
Italian seasoning
1 1/2 ts chilli powder
1/4 ts black pepper
Salt; to taste
1 1/2 cups water
18 oz tomato paste
1 cup Romano cheese grated
1 pound & -cheese 1 pint
cottage cheese small-curd
12 oz lasagne noodles
Instructions
Sauté onions and bell pepper
in olive oil in a large sauce
pan. Add ground meat, separate
well and cook until no red
shows. Mash garlic with a
small pinch of salt and add
to meat mixture. Add water,
tomato paste, Italian seasoning,
chilli powder, pepper and
salt in that order, mix well
and simmer over low heat about
1/2 hour. Skim off excess
fat. (Sauce should be very
thick.)
While sauce cooks, prepare
lasagne as directed on package.
Into a 9x12x2 inch baking
dish or pan, spread about
1/4 of the sauce. Add a layer
of Mozzarella, a layer of
cottage cheese and sprinkle
with grated Romano cheese.
Repeat layers twice more and
top off with remainder of
sauce and sprinkle with grated
Romano cheese.
Bake uncovered in preheated
350 degree oven for 45 minutes
while you toss your favourite
green salad and chill the
red wine. Cut servings with
a large spatula.
