Warwick
Warwick University pretty
much in the middle of nowhere, but that means
that all the people you meet are going to be fellow
students who have a reputation for being "up
for it" most of the time. It's also very
very green, or muddy-brown in the winter so jeans
are a necessity.
When the sun is out, which
is rare, most students hang out outside and have
picnics and parties in the summer sun. Although
yours truly tends to overdo things on the old
lager front and ends up paralytic in a puddle
in the middle of the greenery - the romance of
Shakespeare country this is not.
Apart from Warwick, there
is nearby Stratford, and Leamington who have lots
of nice "ye olde worlde" pubs and also
more modern clubs full of 80s pop. If you like
a mixture of indie, pop and dance music, then
the best place to go clubbing is nearby Coventry,
although they tend to serve up a dish of ABBA
, Wham and Duran Duran. The Union is probably
the best place to go out, and you're guaranteed
to pull if you stay until the end. They have excellent
entertainment laid on and the place is awash with
cheap, strong lager.
