Warrington
Warrington offers you a
lively town centre and combines a mix of clubs,
cafe bars and more traditional pubs. Many of the
nightclubs hold special student nights. There
are also a number of restaurants catering for
a range of tastes and pockets. The town centre
is a short bus ride from the Padgate Campus, and
is well served by public transport and taxis.
The town boasts a range
of sports and leisure facilities. Within the Borough
there are top class facilities for tennis, swimming,
rugby, golf, speedkarting, ten pin bowling and
many more. If you prefer your sport as a spectator,
the town is home to the world famous Warrington
Wolves - Rugby League team. The neighbouring cities
of Manchester and Liverpool are well known for
their sporting successes and events, these include
premiership football clubs, rugby league and union,
cricket, basketball and hockey.
The town centre offers many
of the attractions of a large city but on a smaller
more intimate scale. High street names and national
multiples can be found in the shopping centre,
alongside specialist independent shops. The latest
addition to the region's shopping facilities is
the excellent Trafford Centre. This offers vistors
a wide and varied selection of retail outlets
including many designer and household names, who
have chosen the Centre as the location for their
only branch outside of London. The Centre also
houses a multi-screen cinema complex and an impressive
array of restaurants and cafe bars. The Centre
can be easily reached by public transport, with
regular services from Warrington town centre.
