Southampton has turned out to be a cool place to live; about an hour away from London and just along the coast from Bournemouth; just as easy to get over to Francais for a wee bit of cheap booze. Two main drinking areas: Town Quay for all-day drinking and eating, and the Ocean Village Marina for night time nightlife beautifully lit up. Just had a massive "Leisure World" building opened which is OK for lots of bars under one roof but some of us find it a little bit too sanitised and Disney-worldish for proper wild nights out. The two main cinemas for the recovery periods are the Multiplex and Harbour Lights (for arts cinema and foreign films).
