Portsmouth

Many students come to Portsmouth for the naval connection - it is the home of the British Navy and as such, many famous ships are docked here, for example HMS Victory, the Mary Rose, and HMS Warrior. So you girls who like sailors will love it here.

Other students come here to go to the beach in Southsea, which is jam packed with students and other assorted loafers in the summer. Everyone sunbathes, flexes their muscles, sucks in their beer-bellies, and just sort of hangs about hoping that someone will notice them or think they are famous with their shades on.

Forgetting the fact that France is only about £10 away, and thus Pompey is perfectly placed for general booze cruises and romantic "tete-a-tetes" in Paris, the main reason anyone and everyone who's anyone, comes to study here are the pubs. Portsmouth, probably 'cos it's a port, has more pubs per person than anywhere else in the country. I'll write that again, just in case you missed it the first time: Portsmouth has more pubs per person than anywhere else in the country.

Do you need another reason to come and study here?
