Guildford
There's more to Guildford
than just being a pretty place to live and study.
If you can cope with people talking as if they've
got plums in their mouth, and talking about the
garden and cricket the whole time, then you can
have a fair crack at enjoying Guildford for it's
excellent University and top notch clubs and pubs.
There are plenty of decent
pubs, notably Scruffy Murphy's. I can tell you
some stories about our antics in that place. In
fact, now that I have a public forum, I can tell
you about my mate, let's call him John, although
his real name is John Anderson, and how we convinced
him that he could walk on water, and he promptly
tried to walk on top of the river and almost drowned.
It doesn't seem as funny written down - I guess
you had to be there.
There are also lots of country-type
pubs in the surrounding area, but most students
tend to go to London at the weekends, the trains
are pretty good as long as you don't oversleep,
and it only takes about half an hour to get to
the centre of London.
