Exeter
The campus itself is only
about 15 minutes walk from the town and we've
got all the usual shops, cinemas, and the rest
you'd expect. There's a 4 screen Odeon and the
newish 2 screen Picture House down on the Quayside.
The town has quite a "safe" sort of
feel about it probably because of its historical
backdrop and, thus, beautiful architecture. In
terms of nightlife, rather than a typical "Union"
we have a "Guild Of Students" which
is pretty much the same thing.
The Guild Bar is tres popular
for cheap drinkies before popping down to The
Quay in the town, which is jammed full of pubs
usually jammed full of us lot. There's about 100
societies run by The Guild and there are loads
of campus discos and entertainments including
the likes of The Manics, Blur, and Ben Elton (?!)
Rag Week is a massive event, as is the Summer
Ball, so get yourself involved in both. In terms
of the town, as well, there's the annual Exeter
Festival in July. Err if you're still there that
is.
