Bournemouth
Ah - sunny Bournemouth -
A modern and fun-filled town in the heart of the
British Riviera! The town centre is where most
of the things happen, and you've got some cool
cinemas (as in every town really) and loads of
bars and clubs, which are about a 25minute stumble
from the University. They say that Bournemouth
has more pubs than the West End of London, so
in your first week, try to put that to the test,
with some easily achievable pub-crawls.
There are lots of cool bars,
and many of them are almost exclusively filled
with students. The Square houses many good pubs
and bars, and is the real heart of the town. For
good drinking and good company, the best places
to hang out (although some may disagree) are in
the East End of the town, with good shops for
all us girlies to window shop, and splash out
our student loans, and The Cage and Zoo club that
will help you get rid of any cash you have left.
Good music is the spice of life, and although
you can't get in wearing jeans, you can while
the night away listening to techno or cheesy "Come
on Eileen" type pop.
Berlins is the other major
club in town, and, really it's a bit of a hole,
but again, when you've had a few pints, does it
really matter? There are loads of decent bars
like DNA and the K-Bar that have late licenses
in town, that'll keep you drinking long into the
night, and of course, the famous Opera House which,
although miles away from the uni, is one of the
coolest clubs in Britain.
