Nichols, the Fourth Floor Café offers traditional
English dishes like sausage and mash at an outstanding
standard. Though, as it is Harvey Nics, don’t
be surprised at the size of the bill. La Tasca, is a
Spanish restaurant with a difference. Not only does
it serve up great tapas and paella but on Monday nights,
it encourages the Spanish feel by offering Salsa lessons.
Walkabout Inn is a chain and is a sports bar, but where
else can you find a menu boasting crocodile, buffalo
and kangaroo, and absolutely huge portions. Hansa's
is a must for all vegetarians and meat lovers should
not be put off, as this restaurant’s Gujarati
vegetarian specialities are outstanding. Fiori’s
is a bistro right in the city centre yet is still a
well kept secret. Newly refurbished, this restaurant
has an excellent lunch menu and delicious specials changed
daily.

newest areas, Calls Grill brings a taste of London dining
to Yorkshire. Based near the new wharf, Calls Grill
is an easy walk out from the city centre and should
always be at the forefront of someone’s mind when
planning a meal out. The restaurant is found in a converted
warehouse overlooking the river and the space afforded
by this venue is exploited. The restaurant uses at split
level to create space and a light feel Exposed brick
work highlights the building’s industrial roots
but is contrasted well with pieces of modern art. Calls
Grill has already received a Michelin rating for the
excellence of its food, specialising in freshly grilled
fish, seafood and steak. The restaurant’s reputation
is growing daily, so reservations are essential at this
fashionable new eaterie.
