What You Should Weigh
These are average tables, with figures in both pounds
and
kilograms.
The tables also show average weights for small, medium
and large frames. You may also carry out a test
at home, to see if you are carrying excess weight, stand
naked in front of the mirror, try and pinch a fold of
flesh from any area of your body e.g. tummy, thighs
etc. If the fold is more than 3cm, you are carrying
excess weight...
How to Weigh Yourself
• Always use the same scales.
• Weigh yourself at the same time of day. It is very
important you stay to one pattern. Your lowest
weight of the day is usually first thing in the morning.
• Wear more or less the same clothes each time. (The
tables assume you are wearing 2 to 3 kilograms — 5
to 6 lb of clothing).
• Use the scales properly. Make sure they are firmly
set on an even floor and read zero when no one is standing
on them. Stand with your weight evenly distributed.
