| Bath
The city of Bath is bursting out
at the seams with cafés and restaurants, especially
the traditional English café serving favourites
such as afternoon tea. However, all tastes are represented
in this historic city. The Eastern Eye offers a menu
inspired by the Bengal region in setting of a lavishly
converted Georgian building which has built up an excellent
local reputation. Exceptional French food can be found
in Bistro Papillon, based in the city centre yet removed
enough to allow for a calming atmosphere. Blackboards
are regularly updated with house specials as well as
a diverse, well-established menu. Popjoys is situated
next to the city’s main theatre and offers a wonderfully
diverse menu and some superb vegetarian options.
Britain.tv’s Choice of the Month:
Fishworks
Walking past, Fishworks would
appear to be simply a fishmongers but closer examination
reveals a newly refurbished restaurant with an heated
outdoor dining area. The success of this particular
restaurant has led to the receipt numerous awards and
building of two further restaurants in London and Bristol.
The restaurant itself offers a vast range of specials,
but if the need takes you, the chef will cook any fish
bought from the fishmongers downstairs. All dishes contain
fish or seafood of some kind so if steak is your thing
then best steer clear. You should definitely visit this
fish lover’s haven.
