Food:
Chinese food and in particular the Chinese
take-away phenomenon has become an integral part of
British culture as a whole over the decades. Sweet
and sour dishes, egg-fried rice, noodles and stir
fry have become household names and favourites. In
2002 there were a record number of 9350 Oriental restaurants
in the UK (which included Thai, Japanese, Chinese,
Indo-Malaysian, Singaporean, and Vietnamese and Korean
food). The following tables indicate some of our favourite
dishes.
