Soleil Moon Frye (her first name means "sun"
in French) was born on August 6, 1976, in Glendora,
California. Hers was an acting family, and Soleil
grew up watching her father, Virgil, and her half-brother,
Meeno Peluce, on television. By the age of 5,
Soleil was determined to take up the family trade.
Soleil's folks "included many religions into
our upbringing. We celebrated Christmas, Channukah,
Passover, Valentine's Day." She says they
weren't showbiz parents, but "people that

Her older brother (Meeno Peluce, another memorable
name) is her best friend, and together they directed
