Winona Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz was born on October 29 1979 in Winona, Minnesota – which explains her name. Bullied as a child this eventually led to her being taught at home. Her first big break came when she starred in the 1986 film ‘Lucas’, this was unsuccessful though. After several flops Winona finally hit the bigtime eith the film ‘Beetlejuice’.

Success followed in the form of ‘Heathers’ and ‘Edward Scissorhands’. Since then she has made a string of high budget, internationally acclaimed films with a number of great stars. Alongside her long list of films, she’s had a long list of failed relationships too. And arguably her greatest moment of controversy came recently when she was caught shoplifting in a store.
