 Melanie
Sykes was born on on 7 August 1970 in Bottom Mossley,
near Manchester. At 19, she moved to London to join
a modelling agency. This resulted in appearances
in TV commercials for Pearl Drops, Falmer Jeans
and, what she's the most well-known for, the Boddingtons
commercials. Melanie moved to TV presenting, starting
with Sky's Real TV UK and Hit List UK on MTV. She
later moved on to work on The Big Breakfast and
The Bigger Breakfast on Channel 4, doing stand-in
presenting and live link-ups from the Oscars in
LA. She also had her driving lessons on the Big
Breakfast, and passed her test.
