A film critic once gushed, “Laura San Giacomo exudes a wise-talking, sweaty sexuality that does not preclude tenderness. Black eyes alive with self-knowledge, sensuous mouth at once mocking and vulnerable, she floods the screen with heat at every feline move.”

Famous for her sexy role as Andie MacDowell's lusty sister in Sex, Lies, and Videotape, she now seems to be trying to dismantle that image with her stubbornly unsexy role in the TV sitcom Just Shoot Me. Which is probably why the show's focus shifted from her to David Spade. This seems to be a lesson every actress has to learn the hard way — if your fame rests mostly on your sex appeal, don't desexualize yourself and still expect people to tune in.

On the other hand, there may be other, more sinister factors at play here. Consider this: In most any successful show where one of its actresses has a fairly attractive body, some reason will inevitably be found for that actress to be dressed to show that body off. Cleavage equals ratings, and Laura's ample chest could certainly make her a ratings cow if the network so ordered.
