Chyler Leigh Potts first graced the world with her presence on April 10, 1982. Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, her family moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia when she was 2. Ten years later, after attending Trantwood Elementary and Great Neck Middle School, her parents divorced. Her mother moved Chyler and her brother Christopher to Miami, Florida, while her father chose to stay in Virginia.

Once in Miami, Chyler attended Nautilus Middle School and an unknown High School before dropping out* pursue her career. Still in Miami, she joined up with private acting coach Sharon Lane and was represented by Lane Management. This lead to numerous modelling jobs and commercials, the most famous being for beverage company Coca-Cola and hamburger restaurant Wendy's.
