Bath and Body - Beauty
Skin is a complex, dynamic structure, continually renewing itself and constantly changing in response to many external and internal stimuli. It takes the brunt of the many potentially damaging substances with which we come into daily contact, and its condition is a determinant in how we look and feel about ourselves. It makes good sense to take care of it.
1. Cleanse
The single most damaging potential threat to your skin is the use of a soap that is too harsh and drying. Choose a gentle cleansing bar that is enriched with moisturizers – especially if you have daily showers.
2. Exfoliate
Exfoliation improves the circulation and softens the skin, making it easier for moisturizers to absorb. Exfoliate the entire body at least once or twice a week using loofahs, washcloths, sea sponges, silk mitts (great for sensitive skin), bath salts or body scrubs.
3. Moisturize
Use a body lotion or rich cream. Body lotions contain less oil and more water; and creams are ideal for your dry skin spots. Try a sprinkle of bath oil in your warm bath, and as you leave the tub after a soak, the oil slick on the surface of the bath water will stick to your body, sealing in the moisture you’ve just soaked up. |
