Bournemouth
is on the South Coast of England and has seven miles
of sandy beach. As a major tourist attraction and holiday
spot it attracts a lot of visitors and the number of
bars and clubs that inhabit the town reflect this.
It is now considered to be the entertainment capital
of the south-coast with concerts, top comedians, plays
and West End shows. It has an estimated lat night capacity
of 20,000 and its numerous bars and clubs cater for
a range of musical tastes from soul to jazz to even
garage.
The Alcatraz Wine Bar at the city centre is a cool laid-back
place to unwind. Also not too far from here is perhaps
one of Bournemouth’s most unique hangouts DNA
(an acronym for ‘Daytime, Nightime, Anytime’).
This is again a laid-back bar with an emphasis on a
Caribbean theme and popular with the students. Other
areas include bars and clubs of a different stance.
Bumbles is one of Bournemouth’s oldest clubs (and
one of the smallest with only two rooms) but has a good
reputation for live music.
There are also more trendy and happening bars in the
town such as K Bar which is an immensely popular dance
club that plays a selection of music and is popular
with students, younger locals and tourists. Some of
the more nationally recognised clubs include Elements
and Bla Bla.
