Belfast - Clubs

Belfast is a robust northern metropolis with nearly half a million people – that is a third of Northern Ireland’s population. It has a blend of modernity and tradition, but falls largely under traditional with its elaborate sculptures and buildings. Yet it is a city packed with bars and pubs, reflecting the Irish drinking culture. O’Neills is perhaps the most infamous with branches throughout the United Kingdom.

It offers public bar and restaurant services, ideal for any time of the day. Other bars include Bar 7, Opium Bar and The Garrick Bar which is one of Belfast’s trendiest bars and holds an exclusive club night on the weekend. The Menagerie is popular with its dark and cosy atmosphere. The city nightlife is atmospheric and alive with the amount of bars and pubs scattered around Belfast. There are also a number of top-notch nightclubs to get the weekend (or any other day) started. These have all kinds of music, gigs, events and themed nights for both the locals and the tourists that are attracted to this buzzing city.

One such is Evolution, a club that hosts a wide range of music from hip-hop to ambient, from breaks & beats to techno, from drum & bass to house, and operates on three floors. Another feature of Belfast’s nightlife are the pre-club bars which are ideal as chill out lounges and sedated tipple. The Milk Bar is perhaps the most infamous of these. One of the most appealing facets of the city’s clubs and bars are that not only are they varied in nature, but also located in various parts of the city for people of all walks of life. The Kremlin, a soviet-themed-bar-come-club is a great example of a gay/lesbian venue.
